After the withdrawal of two of our five lots, the remaining three all sold extremely well, with Lot 113, the Fastnet Rock x Princess Coup colt topping our draft
The first of our draft to head through the ring was an impressive Lonhro filly out of the Danehill mare Legal Consent, making her a half-sister to the Bob and Sandra Peters’ Group 1 West Australian Derby winner Dreamaway.
Purchased by New Zealand’s Barneswood Farm, the filly (Lot 23) was secured for $340,000, the second highest prices recorded for any of the progeny of Darley’s Group 1 Champion Lonhro.
The second of our three-strong draft went through the ring 50 lots later as Lot 73, and the impressive looking colt is the second foal winning Fantastic Light half-sister to stakes performers Emotional Circus and Twirl, all being out of the Danehill mare Cirque Du Soleil, herself a sister to Coolmore Stud’s Champion Fastnet Rock.
By Darley’s Medaglia d’Oro, the sire of Gai Waterhouse’s unbeaten, Group 1 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, the colt was purchased by Carmel Size for $350,000.
The final of our draft to sell, was Lot 113, the fourth foal out of the Champion 3YO filly Princess Coup.
By Fastnet Rock, the colt has all the credentials to be an exciting stallion was purchased by Southern Breeding Ventures Pty Ltd for $650,000.
A special thank you to everyone who inspected our drafts and to the purchases of our lots.
